A MAN accused of threatening a Carlisle pizza restaurant manager with a locking knife is to stand trial in early April.
Craig Anthony Little, 34, appeared at the city’s crown court over a video link from custody for a hearing in front of Judge James Adkin.
Little pleaded not guilty to one charge, which alleges the threatening of another with an article with a blade or point at Pizza Hut, off London Road, on December 1.
The details of the charge allege that Little “unlawfully and intentionally threatened” a female – said by the prosecution to be the restaurant manager – with a locking knife, “and did so in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious harm” to her.
The woman named in the charge was said in court to have been a “complete stranger” to Little, of the city’s Melbourne Road.
His trial in front of a jury is due to start at the crown court on April 1.
In the meantime Little was remanded in custody by Judge Adkin.
