Visiting restrictions are being eased across north Cumbria’s hospitals after a recent drop in flu cases.
North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust is lifting visiting restrictions for children aged 12 and under at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven.
A North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust spokesman said: “The restrictions were introduced after a national increase in the number of flu cases, which are now starting to fall.
“We would still ask that only two visitors per patient at any one time and please do not visit patients if you are feeling unwell or have been unwell in the last 48 hours to ensure infections are not passed on.
“The Trust would also ask, if you are visiting, please wash your hands with soap and water before entering clinical areas.”
