Appeal after Gretna woman finds intruder in her kitchen

Police Scotland is investigating a report of an intruder being found within a property in Kirtle Place, Gretna during the early hours of this morning.

A 29-year-old woman, who lives at the address, awoke around 3 am and discovered the man in her kitchen.

The man fled after being discovered and made good his escape.

A police spokesperson said: “Being woken during the night to discover someone within your house would be a terrifying experience. The man is described as being slim and was wearing dark coloured jacket and scarf.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area or who might have any information about this to call us at Annan on the 101 number.”
