Cumbria County Council is seeking new blood and recruiting to more than 60 new apprenticeship opportunities. The latest apprenticeship recruitment drive is open now to people of all ages and backgrounds who are being encouraged to apply before the deadline on 31 March 2019.
All apprenticeship opportunities are being advertised on www.cumbria.gov.uk/apprentice.
People who are interested in an apprenticeship can also head to the council’s website and watch a series of videos featuring current and past apprentices, like Shaney, Neil, Sorrel and many more, who share their experiences of life at the county council.
This year the county council will see a record 150 employees begin an apprenticeship and they’ll be backed by a comprehensive package of support, mentoring and training. Apprenticeships are available at a range of levels and in a range of professions and there’s more choice than ever before in areas including:
- Health and Social Care
- Civil Engineering
- Highways Maintenance
- Customer Service
- Business Administration
- Motor Vehicle Maintenance
- Project Management
Margaret Watson, Apprenticeship and School Development Manager, said: “Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity for people to earn while they learn and the overwhelming majority of our apprentices go on to secure permanent employment with the council or move on to further training. We’re currently supporting over 180 apprentices and over the last 5 years we’ve recruited more than 500 apprentices who are now progressing in their chosen careers.
“This month over 900 people attended our countywide events to find out more and meet our team, it was fantastic meeting everyone and I hope they will consider an apprenticeship at the council and apply before 31st March.”
