A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder following an incident on King Street, Wigton, outside the Throstle Nest.
Police were called to the incident at 10:23pm last night (12th April) which involved two men and a woman.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A local man in his 20s sustained a serious facial injury caused by a knife.
“He remains in The Cumberland Infirmary in a serious but stable condition.
“A local woman in her 40s sustained a serious head injury not believed to life changing, she has since been discharged from hospital.
“A 39-year-old man from Wigton, was arrested on suspicion of attempt murder, possession of bladed article, ABH assault and possession of controlled Class B drugs. He remains in police custody.”
Police are appealing for anyone who might have been in the Throstle Nest prior to the incident or who may have witnessed the incident to contact police on 101, quoting log number 265 of the 12th April, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
