A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident outside the Throstle Nest pub, Wigton, on Friday evening.
Police were called to the incident at 10:23pm (12th April) which involved two men and a woman.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Scott Topping, aged 39, Wigton, has been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody.
“He has also been charged with possession of a bladed article, common assault and threatening a person in a public place with a bladed article.
“A local woman in her 40s sustained a serious head injury not believed to life changing, she has since been discharged from hospital.
“A local man in his 20s remains in The Cumberland Infirmary in a serious but stable condition.”
Topping, is due to appear at Workington Magistrates on April 15th 2019.
