Lorry overturns on A595 roundabout at Lillyhall

The A595 southbound has reopened after a lorry overturned on the roundabout at Lillyhall, Distington.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The driver of the vehicle is uninjured.

“The road will remain closed whilst emergency services attend the scene and clear the road.

“Congestion is likely in the area and road users should use an alternative routes, or a different junction onto the A595.

“The road is expected to be closed for at least another 90 minutes while emergency services work on clearing the road and removing the vehicle.”

Update: The road reopened at 3pm.
