Later this month MP Tim Farron will cut the ribbon to launch a new completely pink electric boat onto the waters of Windermere.
The boat, which will be available for hire from Windermere Quays Electric Boat Hire, will help raise funds through their innovative match-funding scheme. The yet-to-be-named vessel, which holds up to ten people, will cost an extra £5 per hour to hire taking the total cost to £100 per hour. Windermere Quays have pledged to match the extra £5, meaning each hour the boat is hired £10 will be raised for Cancer Research UK.
Managing Director Grahame Armer said: “We are extremely excited about seeing our ‘Pink Lady’ take to the Lake this month and we expect this will raise some thousands of pounds each year. This is our way of not only bringing something unique to Windermere but importantly of giving back to the wider community.”
The special pink boat is one of a new fleet of 8 completely luxury electric craft that the company are introducing to the water. The celebratory launch will take place from their Bowness-on-Windermere jetties on Glebe Road on 27th April at 1pm.
