Firefighters tackle Carlisle blaze

At 3:01am today, Sunday 21 April, two fire engines from Carlisle East and Carlisle West were mobilised to reports of a fire in the open on Longholme Road near Carlisle Car Carers in Carlisle.

On arrival crews found trees well alight which were close to an adjacent property.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used three hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera and small tools to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately seventy minutes.”
