Firefighters tackle Southwaite Services blaze

At 5:36pm yesterday, Saturday 27 April, firefighters from Carlisle East and Carlisle West attended a fire at the motorway services involving a roof void above a toilet.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours.”
