Firefighters called to Southwaite Services diesel spillage

At 1:46pm today, Monday 29 April one fire engine from Lazonby was called to reports of a fuel spillage at Southwaite Services, M6 Northbound.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found a large spillage involving approximately five hundred litres of diesel.

“Firefighters used environmental protection equipment to contain the spillage and made the vehicle safe.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours.”
