A van driver and his teenage passenger have died following a road traffic collision on the A74(M).
Police Scotland were called at around 6.15am today, Thursday 2 May 2019.
A two-vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the northbound carriageway of the A74(M) between Junctions 20 and 21.
The collision involved an articulated lorry and a van.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “As a result, the 57-year-old male driver of the van and his 17-year-old male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
“The driver of the articulated lorry was uninjured.”
The road was closed to allow for a full crash scene investigation to take place and diversions were put in place, however is now fully open again.
