At 614am today Sunday 5th May two fire engines from Ambleside and Windermere attended reports of a building fire at Clappersgate, Ambleside.
On arrival firefighters found a fire involving an outbuilding.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one main jet, one triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“Firefighters also removed slate and ridge tiles from the roof of a neighbouring property, the road to the property was also closed by fire service personnel whilst they were extinguishing the fire.
“All appliances were engaged for one hour thirty five minutes.”
