Firefighters tackle Little Strickland blaze

At 7:25am today, Tuesday 7 May one fire engine from Penrith and one from Shap attended a property fire in Little Strickland.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

“Crews used height safety packs to aid the removal of roof slates.

“Crews were on scene for two and a half hours.”
