Man arrested in connection with Barrow incident

Officers dealing with an incident in Barrow have arrested a 25-year-old man.

Police were contacted at 11.40am today (May 7) following concerns for the welfare of a male within a property on Greenhill Close.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The arrest occurred at approximately 3pm.

“A number of officers, including negotiators, attended the scene.

“The male is now being transported to custody.

“Officers would like to thank local residents for their patience. There was no perceived risk to the wider public at any point during this incident.”
