Two arrested after man hurt in Botchergate attack

Police are investigating an assault that occurred at 2am on Friday 3rd May on Botchergate, Carlisle outside of Deja Vu.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 23-year-old man from Carlisle was assaulted by three men and as result he sustained facial and wrist injuries which required treatment at the Cumberland Infirmary.

“A 22-year-old man from Carlisle has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and released on bail pending further enquiries.

“A 19-year-old man from Wigton has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and released on bail pending further enquiries.”

Police would like to speak with a third male in connection with the incident and would like to speak to anyone who has any information or witnessed the incident to contact DC 598 Tom Kirkpatrick on 101 contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting log number 78 of the 3rd May 2019.
