Teenage moped rider arrested after dangerous driving in Brampton

Police are appealing for information following multiple reports from members of the public in Brampton of dangerous driving.

The reports are of a dark coloured moped that has been ridden at speed on pavements and footpaths in recent weeks.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 16-year-old, local male, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

“He has been released under investigation.

“The moped remains outstanding and police are keen to hear from anyone who may know where it is located.”

Police are also keen to hear from any members of the public who may have information regarding the rider involved in these incident such as their appearance or identity to call PC 1654 Butler on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
