Firefighters tackle Penrith blaze

Two fire engines from Penrith fire station attended an industrial unit on fire on Cowper Road at Gilwilly Industrial Estate, Penrith.

Fire crews rushed to the scene at 3am today, Saturday 18 May.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The fire involved a commercial premises.

“Crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the blaze.

“Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours.”
