Firefighters tackle Workington house fire

Four fire engines from Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport responded to a fire involving a domestic property on Hillcrest in Northside, Workington.

Fire crews rushed to the scene at 4:44am today, Monday 20 May.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used four breathing apparatus one hose reel and one ground monitor to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.”
