Firefighters tackling Lake District wildfire

Firefighters from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service are tackling a wildfire in the Catbells area of the Lake District.

Fire crews were called at 3:51pm.

A fire engine from Keswick and a wildfire Land Rover unit are at the scene tackling a blaze measuring approx 100sq metres.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We don;t expect the fire to spread any further as it’s now under control.”
