Workington Go event gets better every year

Workington Town Council hosted their annual sports festival ‘Workington Go!’ on Saturday 18 May 2019.

The programme for the day featured free sports workshops led by professional instructors. The festival aims to offer young people and their families the opportunity to get active and try something new. The event was first started in 2017 and has grown significantly since its launch. This year the number of participants was double the previous year with over 640 activity spaces filled.

The event took place across three venues, Vulcan Park, Hall Park and Workington Leisure Centre, and included a variety of traditional sports activities and more unusual workshops, including boxing, canoeing, archery, racket ball, street art, circus skills, cookery demonstrations and more. The event was sponsored by Sport England and New Balance.
