Singer songwriter John Newman will join global superstar Jess Glynne as special guest for her concert at Bitts Park, Carlisle on Sunday 4 August.
John Newman, owner of one of the most distinctive voices, writer and performer of some of the biggest anthems including three Number One singles, is a remarkable kind of pop star. He can write, sing, arrange, play and produce his own work and direct his own videos too.
Since bursting onto the scene as the co-writer and voice on Rudimental’s classic Feel The Love John has travelled the world, headlining some of the most legendary venues and performing on some of the biggest stages. It was the global Number One smash Love Me Again and subsequent debut album, Tribute which also spawned the huge hit single Come & Get It that established the Yorkshireman as one of the UK’s most singular talents and consistently successful artists.
Global monster Blame, which sold over 4 million worldwide, gave John his third UK Number One single. John also recorded and featured alongside Sigala and the legendary Nile Rodgers on the massive hit Give Me Your Love and remains very much in demand as a songwriter having penned singles for Paloma Faith, Kungs and Jacob Banks to name but a few.
To date he has sold over six million singles world-wide and will be a fantastic addition to the Jess Glynne concert at Carlisle this summer. Jessica Hannah Glynne first rose to prominence in 2014 as the featured artist on singles Rather Be by Clean Bandit and My Love by Route 94, both of which reached Number One in the UK.
Her incredible vocals and fearless delivery soon had the music industry listening. Fans were quick to follow as the girl from North London has since carved out a unique slot of her own with what has become now her instantly familiar, rousing vocal styling and stamp on pop, soul, R&B and house.
Jess’ debut album I Cry When I Laugh debuted at Number One in the UK Albums Chart in 2015, bringing with it the hit singles Hold My Hand and Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself, both garnering her huge international acclaim.
The much awaited second album Always In Between released in 2018 unsurprisingly took the UK by storm, catapulting straight to Number One, including top anthems I’ll Be There and All I Am, the former positioning Jess as the only female solo artist to have seven Number One hits in the UK Singles Chart.
Jess Glynne will be performing at Bitts Park in Carlisle on Sunday 4 August 2019, bringing her arsenal of hit after hit alongside her infectious energy to fans in Carlisle. Jess Glynne said, “See you in the summer Carlisle! Get your tickets now. Big love! Can’t wait xx”
Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of LHG Live, promoters of the concert said “Jess is such an incredibly vibrant and mesmerising artist, arguably the most successful female artist of the moment whose hits have dominated the charts so we are looking forward to a fantastic concert in Carlisle, and we are thrilled to now announce John Newman as her special guest. What a night we have in store for fans! We have no doubt tickets will fly!”
