A woman charged with an alleged serious sexual assault in Penrith has appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court today (Tuesday).
Miss Natalie Jade Hamilton, aged 19, is accused with the assault of a female with intent of a sexual-nature, on a woman aged 16, or over, on January 19 of last year.
The charge is brought to court under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The charge is indictable only and has to go straight to Carlisle Crown Court.
Hamilton gave her address as Oswald Avenue, Newcastle upon Tyne, the defendant instructed her lawyer Sara Budniak to enter a not-guilty plea to the accusation.
Hamilton will appear at Crown Court on July 15, she was granted unconditional bail until then.
