Man charged with murder of Barrow man, John MacMillan

A 28-year-old man will appear at court tomorrow charged with the murder of 70-year-old Barrow man, John MacMillan.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Jonathan MacMillan, from Barrow, has this evening (June 20) been charged with murder and will appear tomorrow (June 21) at Furness Magistrates’ Court. He will remain in custody until the court appearance.

“The charge is in connection with an incident at an address in Provincial Street in Barrow on the evening of Tuesday June 18.”

John MacMillan had suffered serious injuries to his throat and chest and was declared dead at the scene.
