Firefighters tackle Millom grass fire

One fire engine from Millom has attended reports of a fire in the open at Millom School, Salthouse Road.

Fire crews were called at 10:17pm on Sunday 23 June.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters discovered a small grass fire well alight and extinguished it using one water backpack.

“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately 15 minutes.”
