Cyclist dies after Wrynose Pass incident

A 56-year-old woman has died following an incident during a Coast to Coast cycling event.

At approximately 9am yesterday (June 29) police were contacted following a report of an injured cyclist at Wrynose Pass, near to Little Langdale.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers can confirm that the cyclist has been formally identified as Katherine Moore, from the London area.

“Mrs Moore was pronounced deceased a short time later. Her family have been informed.

“No others persons were involved in this incident.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 and ask to speak to PC 2526 Hesketh from the Mobile Support Group.
