POLICE have arrested a man in connection with a racially-aggravated public order incident in Workington.
At 3.25pm today (July 1), officers were alerted to an incident where a man has shouted racial abuse at a woman and two children who were walking along Murray Road.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 65-year-old man, from Workington, was swiftly arrested and is currently detained for questioning.
“Officers would like to speak to members of the public who witnessed the incident.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to an officer in relation to incident number 152 of July 1.
