Police appeal after Whitehaven grass fire

At 1.20pm today (Friday 5th July 2019) Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were made aware of a grass fire in the shrub land behind Asda on Preston Street in Whitehaven.

It was on the footpath leading from the rear of Albion Square towards Kells.

The fire is being treated as intentionally started and Cumbria Police are seeking information about anyone acting suspicious in the area prior to this incident.
