Man arrested at Allonby beach released under investigation

A man who was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and attempted grievous bodily harm following an incident at Allonby beach on Saturday 6 July has been released under investigation.

Police were called at approximately 9:30pm.

A 34-year-old man from Sunderland was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and attempted grievous bodily harm.

A 34-year-old man from Durham suffered minor injuries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The man has been released under investigation.

“Proceedings are active and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.”

Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
