Firefighters tackle Wigton vehicle fire

One fire engine from Wigton has attended a commercial vehicle fire on Highmoor, Wigton.

Fire crews were called at 2:15pm today, Wednesday 10 July.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found one large commercial vehicle well alight, it was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, thermal imagining camera and a dry powder extinguisher.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.”
