Firefighters tackle Wigton blaze

Two fire engines from Aspatria and Maryport have attended a commercial building fire on Station Road in Wigton.

Fire crews were called at 11:18am today, Thursday 11 July.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.

“Crews remained in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.”
