Carlisle man arrested on suspicion of weapons offences

A man was arrested this morning after a member of the public reported seeing a man pointing a suspected BB gun at birds in the Stonegarth area of Carlisle.

Police were called at 5:30am today, Monday 15 July.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers attended and arrested a 22-year-old man from Carlisle on suspicion of weapons possession offences and theft.

“He currently remains in police custody.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Cumbria Police on 101.
