Bay Hospitals Charity, the official charity of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), are inviting local people to take part in a guided sponsored walk of Piel Island to help raise funds to improve patient care and the experience across Morecambe Bay hospitals and local communities.
The sponsored walk will take place on Saturday 27 July 2019 starting at 10.30am (registration opens at 10am) from Snab Point, Walney.
The walk will be led by Piel Island guide and local legend John Murphy.
Heidi Bowron, Charity Coordinator at Bay Hospitals Charity, said: “The Piel Island walk is a fabulous way to explore the history and landscape of Piel Island and raise funds at the same time! It’s going to be a great day family out.
“Every day incredible things happen across our hospitals and community, but this is not without cost. By supporting your local hospitals charity you can help us fund the latest equipment and help make for a more comfortable environment, ensuring you and your loved ones get the best possible care and treatment.”
