Three fire engines from Carlisle West, Longtown, Penrith and a water bowser also from Penrith have responded to reports of a building fire at Randalington Farm, Longtown.
Fire crews were called at 4:08am today, Friday 19 July.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found a barn consisting of 70 tonnes of hay alight which was extinguished using four breathing apparatus and two hose reels.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours and thirty minutes.”
