Carlisle duo charged with drugs offences

A man and woman have appeared together in a secure-dock of Carlisle magistrates court today (THURS) charged with drugs offences.

Miss Leanne Bewley, 43, of Grey Street, Carlisle, is accused that on August 7 she was in possession with intent to supply, class A drug “crack” cocaine, also possession with intent to supply a quantity of diamorphine and Class A heroin, she is also accused of possession with intent to supply from April 12 of a quantity of heroin.

Standing beside her in the dock was Lee Martin Palmer, 47, he gave an address of Aglionby Street, Carlisle.

He faces the two allegations from August 7, of possession with intent to supply a quantity of both heroin and crack-cocaine, there is also a third accusation of acquire/use/possess criminal property, this allegation refers to £2,000 in cash found.

No-pleas were entered by either defendant; their next hearing will be at Carlisle Crown Court on September 9, they were both remanded in custody until then.
