A MAN who denies alleged assaults on both a doctor and ward sister at Whitehaven’s West Cumberland Hospital will stand trial later this year.
David James O’Fee, 24, faced two charges when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court over a video link earlier today (MON).
Both allege assaults on emergency workers – one a doctor, and the other a ward sister and registered nurse.
These are said to have occurred at the hospital on November 25 last year.
O’Fee, previously c/o George Street, Whitehaven, pleaded not guilty to both charges during a short hearing in front of Judge David Potter.
O’Fee is now due to stand trial in front of a jury at the crown court in the week of October 21. It is estimated this hearing will last two days.
In the meantime, O’Fee was remanded in custody by Judge Potter.
