Woman killed in M6 crash near Penrith

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision on the M6.

Officers were called at around 11:50am on the 17th August to a collision on the M6 southbound between junction 41 and 40 involving a car and a motorhome.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 62-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Two young children suffered minor injuries and were taken to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle.”

Officers would ask anybody who witnessed the collision or has dashcam around the time of the incident is asked to contact police on 101 or alternatively email [email protected] referring to incident 83 of  19th August 2019.
