Ahead of The Great British Bake Off returning to our screens next week, one Lake District hotel is on the lookout for contestants to whip up a storm in the kitchen this Bank Holiday Weekend.
Tweedies Bar & Lodge will be holding its own charity Bake Off in Grasmere on Monday 26 August. Open to local residents and holidaymakers alike, the contest will mirror the TV show’s format of three back-to-back challenges: the Signature Bake, Technical Challenge and Showstopper Challenge.
It’s being organised as part of a series of 15th birthday events for Tweedies, who are the lookout for contestants to show off their best cakes, bakes, biscuits and pastries.
Tweedies’ Head Chef James Goodall, who trained under the renowned Raymond Blanc, will take the helm of the judging panel.
All completed bakes will be auctioned off at the end of the day, in aid of nominated charity Parkinson’s UK – in honour of Tweedies’ co-owner Brian Roberts, who is suffering the disease.
So if you think you have what it takes to be judged as Star Baker, then contact Laura Goodall on [email protected] explaining why your bakes are so brilliant.
Meanwhile, The Great British Bake Off will return to Channel 4 on Tuesday 27 August at 8pm for a ten week run.
