Advisers from Inspira will be on-hand at schools and Inspira centres around the Cumbria today, Thursday 22nd of August for GCSE results day.
With thousands of students waiting on these results to secure their futures it can be the case that not all of them receive the results they were expecting.
Sarah Harrington Director of Operations for Inspira said, “Young people can receive surprises on results days, some do better than they expected, some maybe not as well. Either scenario can present them with different choices on their future studies. We want to be able to offer impartial advice and guidance at the right time which is why our Advisors will be available in schools, in our centres and available by phone.”
The Inspira Carlisle centre on Lowther Street will be open from 10am to 7pm.
Louise Latta, one of the Advisors available at the Carlisle centre on results day, said, “It can be a bit of a shock when you go to collect your results and they are not what you were expecting. People may want to go home and speak to friends and family before looking into the options available to them. Parents often want to be a part of that conversation and that is why we are staying open into the evening.”
If young people want to reconsider their choices they can contact Inspira’s dedicated results hotline on Carlisle – 01228 934005, 0345 6588647 or visit www.inspira.org.uk
