Genesis Homes has recently appointed Laura Pepper to a newly created, senior role of Business Analyst and personal assistant to MD, Nicky Gordon.
The role brings high level assistance in the delivery of the business needs, across all departments, through continuous support and review. This is the first time Laura has worked in the construction industry, and she’s already finding the industry a great fit for her skills.
With several years experience as a Financial Analyst and Business Partner in retailers such as Victoria Beckham Ltd and The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Laura brings a wealth of widespread knowledge in both the accountancy and reporting practices required of a venture capital-led business aligned with the brand and customer needs in expectations and experience.
Laura said: “I feel both privileged and excited with the prospect of furthering my career here at Genesis Homes. The brand sells itself, and as soon as I started looking into the 5-year growth plans, I knew it was an opportunity I wanted to be a part of. The whole team is dynamic, innovative and committed and I’m thrilled to join the Senior Management Team supporting Nicky and the wider needs of the business.”
Nicky Gordon, MD added: “We’re delighted to welcome Laura to the business and look forward to the contribution she will make to the continued development of our company. We’ve been delighted with the success of Genesis Homes and we have exciting plans in both the short and long term, and the role of Business Analyst is fundamental in achieving these ambitions. Laura has an impressive CV and her personality and ambition certainly shone through at interview.”
Growing up and studying in Kirkby Stephen, Laura was offered a scholarship for sixth form at Sedbergh School. A year out doing a ski season at Valdisere, was followed by an accountancy degree at York University. Laura’s first job saw her working as a management assistant for Penrith-based AW Jenkinson’s; a role which Laura loved and cemented her career plans. Four years working for Victoria Beckham in London followed, but a sense of missing family and friends brought Laura back to Cumbria. A short period at Edinburgh Woollen Mill was the precursor to Laura’s move to Genesis Homes.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys walking and going to the gym, socialising and playing hockey.
