To mark the Tour of Britain coming through Kirkby Stephen and the Eden Valley on Tuesday 10 September, Kirkby Stephen Community Arts presents SPOKE – A CELBERATION OF CYCLING for 3 days of FREE arts activities.
The highlight of the celebration is CHEER! a short dance piece commissioned by Kirkby Stephen Community Arts for SPOKE, created by Sian Williams from THE KOSH , Sian has worked most recently on Theatre by the Lake’s hit productions of Handbagged, As You Like It, The Secret Garden and Beauty & The Beast, CHEER! will be performed by James Aiden Kay and members of the community will premiere on Tuesday 10th September at 1pm in the Market Square just before the Tour of Britain zooms through town.
Kate Lynch from KSCA said ‘We are thrilled that the amazing KOSH are coming to the Eden Valley to make this very special piece and show it to the world for the very first time for residents and visitors to mark the Tour or Britain to the region’
Members of the public can get involved by joining a fee workshop during our FAMILY DAY on Sunday 8th September – just come along to a CHEER! Movement & theatre sessions with dancer James Aiden Kay and director Bobby Brook- come and join in at Kirkby Stephen Sports & Social Club – 10am-11am & 1pm-2pm & 2 to 3pm.
