Ian Powley awarded with Swim England North-West Long Service to Aquatics Award 2019

It was announced today that Ian Powley has been awarded with the Swim England North-West Long Service to Aquatics Award 2019.

Hailed as a “Swimming Legend” by Penrith Swimming Club, The Swim England North West awards are to recognize the contribution to those involved with swimming. Mr Powley will now be shortlisted for the Swim England National Awards, to be held at the Great Hall at the University of Birmingham.

Mr Powley has dedicated a lifetime to aquatics and Penrith Swimming Club joining the club initially at 14 when the club was based at Frenchfield, swimming in the river Eamont.
