Port Carlisle woman dies after Newton Arlosh crash

A Toyota Auris, similar to the one involved in the crash

Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal crash on the B5307 at Newton Arlosh yesterday morning (8 Sept).

A blue Toyota Auris left the road and overturned in a ditch.

The vehicle was found in the ditch at around 10.25am

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “At this time it is not believed the car had been in collision with any other vehicle.

“The sole occupant of the car was 86-year-old Eileen Carruthers from the Port Carlisle area.

“Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the car leave the road or who may have noticed the blue Toyota Yaris in the area at any point that morning.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police referencing incident 81 of 8 September 2019.
