Driver hurt in B5305 hit-and-run

Police are investigating a fail to stop road traffic collision which occurred at around 6:50pm on Friday 6th September.

A 46-year-old man from Abbeytown was travelling in a Toyota Carolla on the B5305 from Wigton towards Penrith when another vehicle, described as a maroon coloured ‘Caddy type’ van, pulled out of the junction of the B5299 at Goose Green from the Caldbeck direction and collided with the Toyota before continuing on the B5299 towards Dalston without stopping.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The man driving the Toyota suffered minor injuries.”
