Man charged with GBH after woman seriously injured in Keswick attack

Police have today (13 Sept) charged a man with grievous bodily harm with intent after a woman in Keswick suffered a serious head injury.

Police were called by North West Ambulance Service at 11.20pm Wednesday night (11 Sept).

The incident occurred inside an address in St Kentigern Close in Keswick.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The woman, 64, was taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle where she remains in a serious condition.

“Patrick Webster, 62, of St Kentigern Close, was arrested at the scene and has been charged today.

“He is due to appear at West Allerdale Magistrates court this afternoon.”

Police appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the St Kentigern Close area around this time. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting ‘Operation Exact’.
