Barrow man arrested after threatening women

Police are investigating a public order incident on Dalton Road, Barrow-in-Furness, which occurred on 26th September at approximately 12:25pm.

It is reported to have involved a man and two women.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The man has become verbally abusive towards the women who were sat by the statue before then threatening to assault them.

“A 51-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of using threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear and released under investigation.

“Police are appealing for several members of the public who had been sat on the statue at the time and may have witnessed the incident.”
