The Outward Bound Trust – Eskdale, Cumbria

£19,221 – £20,871 (dependent on relevant experience), plus benefits package

40 Hours per week, permanent position.

The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity providing adventure-based, outdoor learning for young people from six centres across the UK. Our Eskdale Centre is a one hundred bedded outdoor education centre, dedicated to working with young people within employment, being apprentices and graduates.

At the Eskdale Centre we are very proud of the food we serve to our clients, our focus is all about producing fresh, homemade meals using local produce. The Cook/Chef will support the catering department in enabling the preparation and service of this high quality food.

The role currently operates on a straight shift pattern with no split-shifts and a finishing time of approximately 19.30 most evenings.

At present the role requires only occasional weekend working and the centre also currently closes for two weeks over the Christmas period. An unusual and fantastic benefit for a role in the hospitality industry. We operate within a rural community, nestled in a mountainous National Park. We have some interim staff accommodation available, where staff can rent rooms within shared facilities, whilst searching for suitable places to live within our local communities.
