Two arrested after man dies in Carlisle

A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs after a man died in Carlisle yesterday.

Police were called by NWAS to a report of concern for welfare of a man in the area of Charlotte Street, Carlisle at approximately 5pm yesterday (Oct 22nd)

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 56-year-old man from Carlisle was taken to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle. The man was later pronounced dead.

“A 44-year-old woman from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs and released under investigation.

“A 34-year-old man from Wigton was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs and released under investigation.

“There are no suspicious circumstances at this time.”
