BAE Systems recruitment open evenings

MORE than 400 Early Careers roles will be on offer next year at BAE Systems Submarines’ Cumbria site.

Positions will be available in almost every area of the business in 2020 – both professional and engineering/production areas

Two Open Evenings at Barrow’s Forum on October 29 and 30 will give prospective employees an insight into the jobs available and the skills and attributes they will need to be successful.

Nigel Chadwick, Head of Early Careers and Skills for Submarines, said: “The events are a great way to gather information about the wide range of schemes available for people who want to be part of the UK’s most prestigious engineering project.

“As work on our submarine programmes gathers pace, we need people in every area from steel working to human resources. For the right people, there are some tremendous career opportunities available.”

The company’s Early Careers department encompasses those joining the company at all levels of apprenticeship and graduates. At the Forum event there will be employees representing all levels of entry and all areas of the business.

A similar event last year attracted nearly 1,000 attendees across two evenings. Many came from schools or colleges and a similar level of attendance is anticipated this time. The event at the Forum is open to all and runs from 4pm – 7pm both days.
