Police appeal after M6 crash

Police are investigating a fail to stop road traffic collision which happened on the M6 northbound between Junction 41 and Southwaite services, at around 3.15am on 30 October.

The collision happened between a HGV and a silver Mercedes Sprinter. As a result of the collision the Mercedes collided into and through the central reservation. Five other vehicles were also damaged by debris.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The southbound carriageway was closed for several hours while recovery of the vehicles took place.

“The HGV involved in the collision did not stop at the scene.

“No injuries were reported.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to help trace the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call PC 1947 on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 13 of 30th October.
